im a new member on here and i have bagged trucks before but never done a toyota till now. theres a brake thing above the rear end mounted to the frame and i was wondering if it would be ok to by pass it and take it out?

Its a proportioning valve. its used to limit brake pressure to the drums depending on the trucks load. If not used the brakes will lock up alot easier.
Some just T it but you should just make it work like i did with my bender or buy a adj. one from summit.Or jegs i think.

airgasim, you got any pics of how you did yours? i would rather keep mine if i could, i carry my dirtbike every once in a while.

well its got a rod that runs to the rearend and i thought it might brake if my truck gets to much lift. do you have pics of yours?

well i searched lspv and i guess im going to tee it

if you're keeping drum brakes in the back, use a tee. if you're switching to discs, you need a proportioning valve.

would you still recommend using a tee if i drive my truck everyday, and sometimes carry some heavy stuff in the bed? i would rather take the thing off, but im not sure how safe it would be in my case.

and if i do leave it, does anyone have a picture of how they made theirs work?

you dont need it. just toss it. put a tee on the frame and hook the lines to it.
