T.B.I. to T.P.I. how involved is it?

My 87 silverado was the first year they came out with the tbi. I just had my motor built and the stock injection sucks on it. I wanna switch to a tpi but don't really know what I need to do. Is there anything that my truck will benefit from by already having tbi injection? Any help?
