I just got my welder hooked up. It's a 220 volt Hobart 175. I am getting shielding gas for it this weekend. I have been playing around with the flux core wire that came with the welder. What is the big disadvantage of using flux core rather than solid wire and gas? It seems strong and all. I realize the welds don't look all that great but other than the appearance of the weld what else?
