What is this?????

I have an 87 Mazda b2200. On the passenger side second bed mount back from the cab there is a fuel filter type thing. One line goes to the gas tank and one line goes to the frame (vent I guess) anyone know what this is? I figure if this is something I should replace I might as well do it now while the bed is off. Thanks for any info.
