my transmission started pouring out fluid all over my truck on the way home from work today, and then the shifter was on D, and all of a sudden it was as if it was put in neutral, so i rolled into a gas station, and it would idle around, and keep slipping in and out of gear. my friend saw the fluid was pouring from the front of the trans at the bellhousing. said the front seal blew out. what makes a newer transmission (with only 55k miles on it) do this? im gonna pull it and have it checked and i guess rebuilt.
