My truck has lots of bondo and rattle can primer on it. I talked to my friend who paints today and he told me that I'll need to get rid of all the rattle can on the truck before he paints it, cuz his stuff will peel rattle can paint up off the truck. The thing is, I did a lot of my bondo work with 80 grit paper, so I'd be making low spots if I get rid of ALL the primer (even in the grooves from the paper)... is this something for me to worry about?? MOST of the truck is still the stock untouched paint, so I'm not worried about that part... but as far as prepping that part, should I just scuff the factory paint and lose the gloss or should I take the paint off and get down to the factory primer?
