I have a F/B/S/S setup on my '02 F150 SuperCrew. I'm running DJM upper & lower control arms in the front with Firestone bags and a KP Components 4-link w/cantilever in the rear with Slams.
I question the install and unfortunately the shop I had the install performed (SporTruck Specialties in Simi Valley) has closed their doors and the owner (who I caught driving on the road one day) gave me some bullshit, shrug your shoulder replies!). I have already had 3 ball joints need replacing in the front and I have a bad shock install in the rear. My biggest issue is that I hear ridiculous squeaks in the rear and all kind of creaking in the front and even though I have a 4-way system I still get bad lean on some corners. In addition it is very difficult to level out the front when driving...don't know if it is because of the soft Firestone bags or what.
I notice that the needles fluctuate more with the Firestones than they do with the Slams.
Then I have the axle shift with the panhard bar in the rear.
Overall, I'm questioning the security of driving the truck, which is a 96mi. round trip work commute daily driver.
I'm thinking about changing from a F/B/S/S setup to a F/B setup, if that may be a way to stabilize the vehicle a bit more.
I figured I would swap the front bags for Slam Specialties, get to put my sway bar back in the front and then see if there is a way to fabricate some other type of link for the rear diff. or a watts link install to keep the axle centered during travel.
Is it difficult leveling out the vehicle with F/B setup as well? In other words, hitting 1 switch for the entire front will lift the vehicle but will it sit at an angle?
Is it better to have the ability to adjust the individual corners. I rarely touch the side-to-side movement anyway, so I'm wondering if I can better myself with a different setup or is it just a case of refining the work that may have been done half-ass in the beginning.
Any comments would be appreciated and I'm thinking about trying Totally Polished or IF for the modifications.
