front center caps on a s10

Ive got kaizer mirages on my 97 s10 and I cant get the front center caps on the front(look at pics in my owner profile). I only need like a 1/4 of a inch to get them on. People have told me i could pound in the hub/axel pin in with a hammer, but i tried and it didnt work, others say to get spacers but noone around here carries them. Can someone help me out here??
