Dodge ram SST

I might buy one of these this week. A friend of the family has a 98 with the 5.9l v8 and the SST package. It has 90k and is res with silver stripes. There asking 7 but i can get it for 6000. Does that sound like a promising ride to buy? Also how hard are they to get to lay frame?
