My rear end is leaking...!

I ate alot of prunes last night and......Just kiddin. The third member seal on my '87 Mazda is leaking again. This one almost lasted a year. Why are these going bad on me so often. By the way, my driveline is shortened 1/2 inch so I know its not smashing the rear end when I air down.
