Is 2x3 square tubing with a 3/16 wall stronger enough for frame?

I am about to start on my back half on my cutlass, what i was wondering is. Will 2x3 with a 3/16 wall thickness be strong enough to use for the rear rails and notch area? I want to avoid using 1/4 wall thickness if i can to keep the weight down. I am running a triangulated four link with the bags on the links if that matters.
