Hello,

My name is Dustin. I have been a member for a very long time, just never post or really update my pictures.

I have a 1994 Ford Ranger, lowered 5/7, shaved everything, and about to be painted.

I took off my chrome bumper, to order a roll pan.

Recently, I was rear ended, and my tailgate which was shaved, was fucked.

I have a new gate, and was thinking about getting a roll pan without license, and just frenching the plate.

My buddies helping me fix a few things before it gets sprayed, and Im gonna see if he can help put on the roll pan.

My question is:

How hard is it to french the plate?

I was thinking it went something like this:

1. Cut out the rectangular on the tailgate, for the license box.
2. Place the box where you cut out, and weld around the box.
3. Grind down the welds, so they dont really show, but still keep the box there.
4.Mix up the body filler(bondo) and spread it on, along the welds and what not.
5.Sand down the bondo, smooth.
6. Spray some regular primer over, just to prevent rust, until it gets painted?

I would really love some help with this, and I really want to do it myself, minus the welding, because Im new to this, and havent really done body work much, just been there when its been done and have had basic knowledge taught to me.

Please, if you can help and maybe give me a product list of what I need.

Im already getting a list, of the stuff needed from my friend whos fixing a crack in my door and visor holes wherre I took off a visor, which was on my truck before I had bought it.

Once these are done, it can be sprayed (already have the paint and supplies). Ford Lime Green.

Thanks in advance.
