s10 driveline

I just got done puttin' on my 2/3 drop ,took it into the local tire shop and my buddy tells me my driveline is up against the yoke (no freeplay) that i need to shorten it about a inch to inch and a half im going to a 3/4 drop really soon anyone heard of or had this same or similar issue ?????????????????????????
