question on a body drop

i have a 95 full size chevy reg cab short bed. my question is to other owners of these trucks, what would be a better choice, a stock floor or traditional. i wasnt gonna do either but now i have a hair across my ass and im gonna finish this god damn 3 year project of mine and im gonna body drop it. also i have a fleet side now that is coming off and getting replaced with a step side bed, i dont want a hole in my bed but i think if i only go 3 inch or 3 1/2 i will still have to cut a hole to clear the notch and forward bars of my 4 link. can i go say 6 inches with the floor of the bed and then make spacers to land on the cross members to bolt the bed back down anyone ever do something like that?? thanks for the help.
