i cant go to sleep and this is somethin that has always been in my head and me and a friend were discussing this.

I dont know if anyone else feels this way, but by no means am i downing the rock music of this time, but an actual "Guitarist" is a dying breed. I think to be an actual rock song you need atleast one good guitar riff somewhere in your song. All these bands play 4 or 5 bar chords, throw some drums in and call it a song. If there were such thing as an "average" guitar song, take an average one from now, and in the 80's hell even into the early 90's there were actual lead guitarists who had a lead part in a song. now maybe this is because i play guitar and have been for over 10 years. but it really is somethin that you dont hear much anymore. the days of Paul Gilbert, Michael Angelo, Steve Vai, SRV, Kenny Wayne Sheppard people who were guitartists, that had a band play with them are over. like SRV it was always "Stevie Ray Vaughan and double trouble" or "triple threat" whatever time of his career u want. You dont have any bands like this any more. just wondered if anyone else likes the sound of a strong guitar in a song like i do, ive been takin pain medicine too....this emphasises things a little more too anyways, its almost 5 in the mornin, im gonna go pass out now
