What is this noise??

Can someone help me out. My truck is making a weird kind of clapping noise, that sounds like its coming from behind my instrument cluster, (its def. not the engine) whenever i accelerate. I think it might be my speedometer cable going out?? What do u guys think it could be?? thanx
