Dropping an F-150 ?'s

I'm thinking about getting a 97& up F-150 and I had a couple of questions. I feel dirty for even thinking about one, since I'm a chevy guy, but I had a full size chevy and noticed everyone else has too so I want an F-150.Anyway I don't want to bag it, but I have noticed all the lowering kits are 4/6. Is there any reason you can't use 3in springs in front with the 2in control arms instead of the 2in springs?Also I want the V-6 5 speed. Would it have any problems towing a mazda to shows?
