tail lights not working and messing up everything!! help!

Hey well i have a 01 tacoma and i got new chrome altezza tail lights for my truck. I bought new bulbs for them and i plug them in and they dont work right. 1st of all when you turn the headlights on, the left blinker does not work.? 2nd, the automatic tranny doesnt shift past first gear.?? 3rd the check ingine light goes on.? and when you hit the brakes or put the back up lights on not all the bulbs are as bright as the other side. ive changed out 2 of the 3 bulbs with the old factory ones that fit and same problem happens ive already returned the 1st pair thinking they were defective or something and now this is pair #2. but when i put on the old factory tailights everything is back to normal. please help me it is frekin annoying . what could be the problem do i have to modify it to make it work. oh ya they are made for an 01 so they fit perfect so what is wrong? help!!!
