C-Notch Question

I'm taking the drop off my truck this weekend and selling it, but the kid I'm selling it to hasn't had time to buy the notch. Should I take the notch off of my truck for like a week just until his comes in, and then put it back on? Or do you think they frame might would bend if I took it off? I didn't see any harm in it as long as I'm not towing anything, but I didn't want to take any chances.

Also, if we do take off my notch and put it on his,... when he orders a new one, will the holes line up? Are all rectangle notches the same?
