How much fiberglass for a console?

I'm going to be building a fiberglass console for my car. I'll build the frame outta mdf and then 'glass it. It'll be about 4 feet long, a foot and a half high (at most) and maybe 5 or 6 inches across. How much resin and mat should I buy? Would a gallon of resin be plenty? Also, will 2-3 layers be enough for a console? It won't need to be as strong as, say, a sub box, right?
