Hello,
I have a 1994 ford ranger.
It was shaved and alarmed last fall, and I go to school in canada, and drove my truck in the winter last winter, cause it hadnt been lowered at that time, and I had washed it once, and I got a crack in my passenger door.
The guy who shaved it said he would charge me to fix it, as it was my fault, but Im dont getting into a fight with him about it.
When I bought the truck, there was a visor thing on it, we took it off, and we welded the holes shut in auto class, but had no time to grind and body fill. Now the welds are rusting.
My body man who shaved it first, said he would fix the door crack, roof holes, and install my roll pan and fix a smell dent I have for 200 canadian, maybe a little more.
I figure if I fix the door crack and roof holes, that price could go way down.
Now, Ive read about this process for the door, it doesnt seem to bad, as its already welded, so just take off the old body filler, and re fill it, which doesnt seem to bad.
Im just wondering, should I try to fix the door and roof holes myself, and if so, would someone just give me a little steps to do the door and roof? The roof would be what, grind the welds, and put body filler on, let dry, sand and repeat if needed? It isnt that bad is it?
Once I get this done, it can get the roll pan put on, and finally get it re painted.
Please post asap, so I can go buy some body filler tonight.
Please also include a little list of items I need just to do door, or both?
My step dad has a huge garage, with air, tools, etc. just no body filler.
I will do it tonight, thanks.
