anyone have this problem?

my oil drain plug is sittin on top of my steering rod, that runs from the box to the passenger spindle. anyone else have this problem. I am tryin to pull my engine out, but I want to drain it first. would this be a difference in a 2wd and 4wd oilpan? its the fe block. I know a toyota 2wd and 4wd oilpan is different.
