This was after I first got it, cleaned it up lowered the front and bagged the back.
The whole plan for the truck is a stockfloor body drop on 20's, smoothed out and painted frame, powdercoated and painted suspension. Shave the firewall, backwall, new tubs, 4wd bed, and I have a dash out of a '65 impala I might use. I've been working on it for a few weeks now. I only work on it 2-3 days a week so progress will be a little slow.
We made new upper control arm mounts out of 2x3 1/4 angle. I've still got to trip it down but not sure how I want it to look yet.
Somehow I managed not to take any pictures of the front bag brackets. But we took the uppe gussets and bent them in to follow the curve of the bag plate.
We then z/d the frame 1 3/4 inches. And used some cut down 1/4 inch 2x2 to fill in the ends. We are still going to go back and plate the side of the frame.
This is my buddy Garret who's gracious enough to let me build my truck at his house because my garage is too full with parts .
We moved the steering rack forward 1 1/4 inches, to clear the Slam He-7's up front.
Last night we got the axle all smoothed and cut off the old mounts, and ground down some of the factory welds. And Started stripping off some of the paint around the windshield and cowl area. Also got the cab unbolted and set on jackstands to get it out of the way so put the new 305 in and stat on the suicide doos superlift 4 link. I will try and keep this updated each week.
