What is a minitrucker? A minitrucker is just a regular person with a passion for custom vehicles. They "drive their trucks low and hold their heads high."-Wyatt Strange. A minitruck is a truck made by Toyota, Nissan, Isuzu, Mazda, Chevy, etc. A minitruck is also at least lowered. Minitruckers all have at least one thing in common, "the need to be low."-John Cochran(minitrucker). The general opinion of minitruckers is that they are just Hispanic hoodlums. They are often called low riders and thugs. The average minitrucker is any race, any age, any sex, and wants to be involved in the hobby/sport for the friendly competition and the feeling of pride they get from the custom work they do on their vehicles. I attended a local car show with Matthew Brackenbury-minitrucker- to try and get a feeling of what it's really like. Minitruckers have reputations as trouble makers. "Those kids are nothing but trouble." Commented a middle aged woman as Brackenbury drove by hopping his 94' Toyota up and down. When I asked her what made her say that, all she said was, "just look at him." For the most part, when asked, no one can give an honest or fair reason why minitruckers are "nothing but trouble." Minitruckers themselves have a few guesses on why they have such bad reputations though.
