Today is the first time I have ever had a problem with my shaved door solenoids. We have just been inundated with rain over the last two days and now my solenoids are not pulling either door open. I can hear the solenoid go pop, but it is not generating enough force to open the door. Normally, they work perfect, just today they are not. Thankfully, I keep my truck in my garage overnight with the windows down, and we have a garage at my work to keep it in during the day. I opened up the door panel at lunch and noticed a bit of water in the bottom of the door. And as I thought, the solenoid is operating, and it will open the latch with the door open and the latch closed.
Now I have three questions: What is causing the solenoids to not generate enough force today when it normally pops the doors open with no problem? Is it the increased moisture or some water getting in them? How can I prevent this from happening?
