'89 toyota

hey all...i got a few questions about my 89 toyota.....i got this weak little 4 cyl. engine...and it bores the crap out of me, everyone is faster than me.....what can i do to fix this? what mods can i do, and where do i go to get the parts.....also, i want to do a body drop in the back, like 2 inches....any further and i am afraid it will crush my body kit......and i need some ideas for makin my front suspension better...the ride is horrible, even for being bagged, it is just crappy.....thanks in advance....
