shaved doors

hey i shaved my doors on my 88 s-10 with 2 problems...1st the door handles inside, how do i get those to work??? 2nd i dont have a back up and since my truck is just a project for now i dont have a good battery in it and it always dies and i have to jump it just to open the doors, so wheres a good place to get a back up and how do i install it??? anything would help thanx!
