Got some tins back from the painter...

Fuck.. I hate this bike so much. And now, after almost an 8 month battle with the owner, I'm finally assembling it. But, and a decent note, the paint looks kind of cool. If you like flames, I guess. The idea was pretty good, but from far away, it doesn't look right.. Here are some shots.

the fab job looks great. can't say that I like the paint scheme though, reminds me of a lady bug.

I can't say I much like it either. The flake he used is a little fruity for me, too much color in it, and not enough definition between the layers of flames. It looks like ass from more than 10 feet away. And the rest of the bike is powdercoated black, which is proving to be a bitch. The powerdercoated sucks. Not a very curteious guy. If I had known the owner was going to have it coated, I would have masked everything off myself. Would have saved me the work of cleaning it up now.

SOO, hopefully I can get this bitch together tomorrow, so I can roll it out of the way and get back to my truck while i wait on my buddy to come wire it up...

Yeah, they should have pinstriped or airbrushed the flames to clean the tape marks and add a sense of depth to the layers. It does look like a ladybug.

The fab work on the tanks are clean though, great work twisted.

I take pride in my work, but this paint job kind of killed it for me. Also the point in the fender, I hated that a lot.

Also, I think I should throw out the fact that it is not my painter. The customer had a friend do it.

Thank you for the compliments on my work though. I might have some of the tins on the bike today, we'll see how much assembly I get done.

Okay, just so this is clear PAINT = NOT MY IDEA AND I DIDN'T DO IT. Just in case there was any confusion. I think it looks like shit. I'm not much into flames either. Was just pointing out that it looks worse on the bike. And I think the "Near Chrome" motor cover will look pretty gay too. I think it would have been good if the bike were all black, or black with plain red tins. Or white scallops! Scallops are always cool.
