Removing wrinkles?

I'm getting ready to recover my headliner with some vinyl to match my leather seats, but I have one problem. The material I'm going to use has been sitting, folded, for a while, so it has fold marks when it's laid out. Will running a heat gun over it help to remove them? Right now I've just got it laid out unfolded, and it's helped a bit, but I'd like to speed the process up, cuz I really want to get it attached tomorrow night. Also, what kind of contact cement is best for a headliner?
