Shocks with Airbags

I was wondering once you put shocks on your ride thats already bagged, will the shocks affect how high my ride will go. Like if the shocks stop before my bags are completely filled is that bad? More bad for the shocks? And then when my ride is deflated will the shocks stop it from laying out?
