Back in Feb. i asked a bunch of you guys how to go about doing a spindle flip on a f-150. For all those who helped thank you. The customers truck we just finished doing was done by another shop over the last 8 months. In that time they managed to completely fuck it up. Seeing as I had performed the spindle flip as well as built the 4-link and cantilever for them I decided to rebuild the whole thing for the guy. It arrived five weeks ago. Here is a list of some things we did to it. We didn't redo everything though just remember that. Such things as the wire harness in the engine bay and the nasty cutting of the bed were left as was from the other shop.
Those wheels would be 23's. When the truck rollled in we cut out everything that had been done. Straigtened the frame that was sagging at the rear, cut out the 16 gauge that was used to box in the frame and cut out all crossmembers. We tunneled the cab and chassis crossmembers to clear the drive shaft. Removed interior, dash and heat and ac. Tubbed the firewall. Pulled in the upper control arms 1" to provide camber for the tires to clear the fenders. Smoothed the axle. Recut the inner front structure. Relocated fuse box. Re-hung tanks under bed together in rear. Mounted all valves on removable brackets on frame. Re made all front mounts and welded them in. Changed bags in front from 2b7's to slam specialties rs-62's. Added shocks and shock mounts in rear. Back in Feb i made all the suspension components for thios vehicle. Including the canti. Not my design for the canti. It was designed by someone else for an s-10 and i modified it to suit the f150 and made some changed that i felt would improve the looks and funtionality. . It was fully jig built and tested. I also performed the spindle flip on the fron suspension as you can't get dropped spindles for these trucks yet. As well built the 4-link and new wishbone. The 23's are going and the new 24's will be on soon. thats what it was setup for.
I would like to here any comments you guys have negative or not.
Oh yeah one other thing. the bags that are in the back setup are all fucked up because they had folded over on themselves and were used bags from the other shop. They will not sit crooked when the new ones arrive. We are using 2600's in the rear and slam specialties rs-62's in the front. The truck gets 9.5" of lift in the front and 13.5" in the rear. It will lay lightning skirt package all the way around on 24's.
