Shaved doors, need to take out springs?

I'm setting up the latches on my '94 for door poppers. Should I take out the spring on the latch? It makes it a lot easier to pull by hand, so it should make the poppers last longer right? I should probably just wait till I get the poppers and see how it works, but I'd like to here what you think.
