U joints

I searched and couldn't find the old topic I saw once, but, did someone say there is something that can be done now about the staked in U joints? otherwise i'm off to the driveline shop to have a custom one built out of my old one. oh, and if I do have a custom driveshaft made, is there anything else I should do to it beside having replaceable U joints put in?
