redrilling to 5 on 100 bolt pattern?

hey can i convert my bolt pattern from 6 bolt to 5 on 100 or is that too small of a pattern for the hub centers? i would like to have the centers actually center the wheel instead of just riding on the lug nuts like some. i have seen some mazdas drilled to 4 on 100 and thought maybe this is possible to go 5 on 100. also what about hubcentric adapters will they offset too much and be total junk? i want to do this asap people.
