RUNNING ARGON?

I went to Airgas the other day and they were out of nitrogen but the guy recommended Argon instead. I didn't get it because I've never heard of anyone running Argon and I didn't want to fuck anything up. He said that it has most of the same properties as Nitrogen, only it is a little more dense. Has anyone ever run Argon??
