2.2 liter with 22's out back?

i have a 2.2 liter in my sonoma and i had plans to rock a 20/22 combo. Just wonderin, will my 2.2 have enough shit in its pants to push the 22's or am i gunna have problems? I thought if it bogged down or whatever i could just "take the restrictor plate off of the red dragon to give it a little bit more juice. But lets keep that on the downlow, its not exactly street legal."
