I'm doin shock mounts on my truck right now and for the lowers, I'm doin tabs off the axle, but on the uppers, I wanna use a bolt, so I can slide the shock onto it and put a nut on it. I got some grade 8 bolts and ground the coating off of them so they're ready to go but just wanted to ask if they'll be strong enough if I just weld them to the side of the framerail, or if I need to go buy a big ass fuckin $20 drillbit to drill a hole in the side of the frame so I can stick the bolt head in there, kinda countersink it, then weld it up.. It seems like the first way I said would be strong enough just wanted to see what you guys think...
