I was thinking about this the other night and I figured it would make for a good conversation.
Those of you who work at a shop. What type of atmosphere does your shop have? How is your boss, or if you are the boss how well do you treat your workers? Do you have any shop projects? Do you guys hang out after hours, or after work?
At my shop its pretty much a family run shop. I have two bosses (partnership) and the one bosses nephew (Painter) works with us. There are 5 of us all toghether in the shop and everybody at the shop can do every different job ( we can all paint, do body work, weld, etc...). Its a pretty laid back atmosphere, everybody gets along. I mean we have def had our fights, and some physical fights at that. But for the most part its a real chill place to work. There all really willing to help out and just be there for you when you need them. We hang out alot in the summer, in the winter there really isnt much to do, I hang out with Jay the painter on weekends and we go to parties and what not. I wouldnt say we have any shop projects persay, but the Painter, and me are building cars that we both have had help with from my bosses and what not. They have both been built through the shop.... We do mostly collision work but alot of hot rods and old cars come in to get work done to them, and we have done our share of customizing jobs. How are your guys shops?
