ok i have a set of 19" x 8.5" wide wheels that i am going to run on my sonoma. I am going to run tires on the back that have a little meat on em but for the front i am going to go with a lower profile and thinner tire. What i need to know is if a 225/35/19 will be wide enough to use on an 8.5" wide wheel. From what i've calculated a 225/35 tire will be 8.858" wide because 225 metric converted to inches equals 8.858. Now does that mean i would be able to use this tire? Also, when measuring for tires, does the width of the tire correspond to the width of the entire wheel or just where the tire mounts? What i mean is, when it says your wheel is 8.5" thick that means that the inside of the wheel is actually 8.5" thick where the tire mounts but the entire wheel from front to back might measure 10" So in that case would i continue to look for a tire that was close to my 8.5" width or the 10" width?
