Oil pan

I need an oil pan for my mazda. I think my engine had the wrong one on it. The drain plug was right on top of the steering linkage rod that connects the spindles. I could not drain my oil because of this. Is this anyone has ever seen? I know I am not going to be able to use this one again, so I need to find a different one. I am going to take a picture of it tomorrow, so you guys can tell me if its the right oil pan. But has anyone had this same problem?
