windshields

how does one go about getting one cut or something? i called everyone in my town, and ask how to get a windshield cut for a chop top, and everyone was acting like they dont understand wtf i was talking about. i'm thinking of going convertiable but with the roadster style glass, how is it done? where to get one? and how much does this usually cost, with me doing all the work but the glass? thanks
