switch on floor?

On my hardbody, I was checking all the wiring under the tweed on the floor, and next to the seat on the driver side there was a patch of the tweed that was formed into a cover for this plastic switch which looks kinda like a battery kill switch for race cars. Any ideas on what this is for?
