Info on taking 22.5semis down to 22s

alright my buddies got a 1 ton chev dually adn we got soem steel 22.5s and we can get soem alcoa aluminum ones when we get it finished, adn nwo that i have places to get the adapters from all i need to kno is wuts the deal wit the tires cuz i kno the everyone on the aluminum ones say they can be shaved down which im like alright on a layth or wut i dont really kno the process of that adn then, also someone said that a 22 tire might be stretch over it is this possible or a myth if it is is it safe. let me kno any info let me kno. thakns josh
