hey peeps, bout 6 months ago i bought a 2000 fullsize reg cab short bed with the 4.8, and the minitrucker in me wants to see it on the ground, but heres my prob, i use this truck to haul my race car and everything like that, and origionally i was goinna be conservative and just do like a 5/7 drop or something like that on it, and have some helper bags in the rearend for support when hauling.. but as i was doing research on suspension components i realized that it was just cheaper to bag the damn thing... well, after contomplating on it, i would really like for this thing to lay rocker, and see, im a fuckin fatass, i weigh 500lbs., lol, dont hate, im sexy compaired to what i use to be, i was at 568 before i started weight watchers, lol, but i dont wanna do a traditional bodydrop, cause i need valuable "belly space" lol, so my only other option is to do a stock floor bd... but my question is that when i cut my frame and plate it, and notch the ass end, will it still be strong enough to haul a 3500lb race car...? if not..what im concidering doing is running a whole subframe from the firewall back and box the rails as well as the frame its self and make the subframe ether out of 2x3 or some round tubing for added strength, and i might add a rollcage for even more strength, and perhaps even have a quad bag over axle setup to help distribute the weight... with all this done do you think it will be solid enough for hauling?? also right now all i have for a hitch is a standard under bumper hidden hitch... and when i get ready for everything, im goinna get a hitch that fits behind a rollpan, but when i raise the bed floor, its goinna kick my hitch location (bodywise) up as well, and i still want to have a tailgate, so im thinkin bout fabbin up a tailgate, thats raised up as much as the bd if ya get what im sayin, so when i open the tailgate the bedfloor will be even with the tailgate, what is everyones opinion on this, anyone done it?, but anyway, any of you engineers have any ideas on my ideas help me out, thanks in advance, later
