Small block oil pan clearance on Pup??

Anyone on here that has put a small chevy motor in you isuzu, what did you for clearance of the oil pan? I think I can make the pan fit with the cross member, but I think I'm gonna have a problem with the steering rods, or whatever you call them.(the linkage in front of the cross member. Is this a clearance issue, if so, what did you do? Any help will be appreciated. Also, did you use your stock rearend?
