yeah dont do mono leafed and bags overthe axel... it sux and rides like shit.. thats what mine was... its now notched and 4 linked... but shhhhh its not done yet
its got more getting done.(its cut the fuck up right now)
i drive my truck as a daily, as long as you do a good job it will be reliable...i havent had any problems with mine since its been bagged. a good rule of thumb is the less moving parts the better. what im trying to say is dont make like a cantilever bag set up or anything wicked like that. i mean you could, if its done right it could be used as a daily but the more moving parts means the more stuff to go wrong. here is what my set up looks like its about as basic but very reliable as a link can get.
you make another shackle up on the frame a lil higher than the one that the leaves bolt into so it doesnt drag on the ground. weld tabs the the underside of the axle and do it like you would with the bottom bars for a four link. you dont put anything in the back...thats whats so nice about this set up...the triangulated trailing arm on the top keeps your axle from moving side to side..eliminating a pan hard bar. the only thing i had done in the back was had the spare tire cross member cut out and welded some tubing in so i could mount my compressors, tank, and valves out of sight.
the only bad thing with that is i dont have a spare tire on board but thats why i have triple A. lol. oh and another thing with that set up is you get to keep your gas tank in the stock location only moved up a couple inches. if you did a fourlink you would have to remove your gas tank and use a fuel cell.
I HAVE PICTURES WITHOUT THE BED ON IT BUT THEY ARE HARD COPIES...IM AT WORK RIGHT NOW, BUT ILL GET SOME FOR YOU TONIGHT...I CAN TAKE A FEW WITH MY PHONE WHEN I GET HOME AND POST EM UP...YOU CAN SEE IT FROM THE SIDE...WHEN YOU SEE THE PIC YOU'LL KNOW WHAT IM TALKIN ABOUT.
