Due to the space restrictions I have and being a unitary construction vehicle, I’m looking at monoleafing the rear on my Corolla minitruck. Having taken a few measurements, I should be able to run a 2 inch block and at ride height still have a curve in the leaf, fully dumped out the leaves will be flat or arched slightly upwards. Bags will be mounted behind the diff above the leaves. I will set the pinion angle at ride height but just wondering if I will see much change when fully dropped? Most of the setups I’ve seen don’t bother with a lateral locator at all so was wondering if its worth doing? Was thinking of doing something similar to the top link in a 3 link setup but would need to mount off the bottom of the diff for clearance. Will there be any issues with this or is it even needed? The biggest concern is I have doubled the factory horsepower and don’t want it to wind up the leaves.
If I had a full chassis I would go straight to a 4 link setup, however space restrictions make it too hard for this vehicle without massive cutting.
Any advice appreciated.

massive cutting sounds fun.

your going to ruin your truck! dont mono leaf it, mono leaf is a half ass setup and it is very dangerious! and if you have double the factory hoursepower you are going to wind up the leaves! and it is only a matter of time before you snap one of your leafsprings. just do it the right/safe way the first time around!

Any other suggestions then?
As I said, if it was full chassis there would already be a 4 link in it, just not practical on this vehicle. I am quite happy to get a new, thicker leaf made. Has anyone tried this method at all?

could you use a two link system w/ a pan hard bar? i dont like two links but thats just personal preference. some people swear by them. could you post pictures of what this corolla minitruck looks like?

There are a heap of pictures there, I will try and get some more under the rear tray. I thought about 2 link with panhard rod, however the fuel tank sits right behind the diff so no room.

could you use a fuel cell or possibly relocate the tank back more to make enough clearance for the panhard bar? flipping the leafs is a way to bag up the rear but rollin on flipped leafs isnt the safest thing to do because they have a tendency to break. i dunno if or where you could get a thicker one to fit.

Decent springmaker can make leaves, I figured if I used a thicker leaf with a three link type arm to prevent the leaves winding up. Unfortunately tank can't be relocated as there is no room, also provides mount for the spare wheel.

Back before links we ran mono all the damn time..... only reason they broke was either dragging the front loops or not getting them dearched.. Get them dearched to flat. Better yet have a new one made flat or buy one.

I would do the 2 link and pan hard...move the tank or get a fuel cell.

if you do leafsprings AND you plan on running an upper arm to keep the rear end from wrappin up, why not just run a three link system and ditch the leafs all together. you lower bars would look something simialr to the lower bars on a two link but instead of using a pan hard par you use a three link (trailing arm aka wishbone) type bar up top to keep your rear end from moving side to side.
