ok guys i am a newb, but was wondering if i needed drop spindles to lay on 18's with a 215/35/18 ? any help will be appricated its on a 92 ex cab

no it can be done with stock spindles, you'll have a good amount of camber but it can be done. you will however, have to tub your firewall and relocate your clutch master cyclinder (if you have one). are you going to body drop it or just make it lay frame? if you body drop it you'll have to move your brake booster over. im layed out on 17's with 215/40/zr17 (i think thats the tire size it might be 205 not sure i forgot) and it clears everything fine with a lil room to spare but im not bodydropped either.

its and auto tranny and it is just being bagged for now plan on a sfbd mid 07 or end of 07 still gotta figure out where to relocate everything? anyone ogot any pics??(of the engine bay)i dont look like ill have to tub the firewall the senterlink of the engine is laid flat

Laying front crossmember on 18s you will have to beat the firewall in a bit. Laying frame you will have to tub it.

so i was told id have to z the frame to get it to lay fram e but does this elivate that problem??

nope. with 18's the firewall is going to take modification because the wheels will rub. if you beat the firewall back and the tires still rub, cut it out and tub it out of the way. if you Z the frame, your moving the front wheels upward...you will get lower and lay flat frame but it makes the wheels hit the firewall more.

That crossmember goes below the tranny to rais it out of the way. The front crossmember below the motor hangs down 1.5" below the rest of the frame. If you simply lay that on 18s, you can get away with beating the firewall, and some light rubbing. If you Z it and actually lay frame you're doing some cutting for sure.

The 92 yota we are working on right now is about 1/4" from laying engine crossmember with a 225/40r18. No drop spindles. when its cambered in the face of the rim comes in to the inside of the stock inner fender, and theres no shims installed right now. Firewall is holding it up that 1/4"...did as much 'massaging' as we could.
