I have been practicing welding 1/4 using my hobart 135. Just to test the strenght after butt welding two 1/4 plates (on one side) together I put blocks of wood underneath each end of the plate with the weld in between. I drive over it with the frnt of my truck.When the weld is on the bottom it just bends and then straightens back out and when the weld is on top the two plates fold at the weld. Should this happen with a good weld?
