after installation of the spindle and once you get the rotor back on and the bearing, is it normal for the rotor/wheel to be hard to spin once the aftermarket spindle is installed? we experienced that and know that it wasnt that way w/ the oem spindle but im just wondering if anyone else has experienced this once they installed their 2in spindle..

no, it should spin freely with no wobble. bearing grease applied? spindle nut tightened properly? too tight? decombobulator valve adjusted? muffler bearing torqued? blinker fluid topped off?

LOL the spindle nut isnt overly tightened

did you have the calipers back on it? when i pulled my brakes and stuff off on my truck, after i packed the bearings with grease and put it all back together my wheels were harder to turn by hand (the driverside was) i did the same thing to the otherside and they turned fine...after i started the truck though and pumped the brakes everything was normal. just what ever you do, pack the bearings really good with grease and dont over tighten the spindle nut. after its put back together, start the truck and try moving it back and fourth a couple feet or so, jack it back up and see if its fine.

naw i didnt even have the calipers back on it at that point, i was still in the process of finishing up w/ the bearings and everything. everything is packed w/ grease, so i duno

but since u said the DS was harder to turn thats my case(so far) im doing the passenger side tomorrow so hopefully the PS will turn freely.

BTW the brand spindles i got was chassis tech.

*referenced just incase anyone has problems w/ their spindles*

oh...i dont have spindles or anything on my bucket and the reason for my spindle not turning smoothly was due to my brake calipers. im sure if everything was done fine, there shouldnt be any problems with it.

when you get it back together i would start it move it a few feet and jack it back up and try turning them by hand and see if it got better or worse.

Sounds like a loose nut behind the wheel

No the spindal nut sounds like it is to tight as you tighten up the nut you should be turning the rotor by hand to set the bearings tighten the nut up till the rotor stops or is tight to turn and loosen it 1/4 of a turn

yea that nut only gets torched to 15 foot lbs. so don't over tighten it

Sounds like too much bearing preload.
